Paul rose to fame after apprehending convicted Golden State Killer Joseph DeAngelo in 2018. Joseph is accused of murdering at least 13 people and committing more than 50 rapes across California. The same year he retired and has contributed to books, films, and podcasts on the Golden State Killer and true crime since then.
