Bret Hart had revealed what aspect of his wrestling he takes most pride in

Brett Hart made an appearance on QTV on CBC in December 2021 to talk about a variety of pro wrestling-related topics. He discussed the one thing he is most proud of, in the interview. Bret Hart stated that he is very proud of the fact that he was trusted and safe in the ring. The wrestlers, according to Hart, are underappreciated as athletes.

He said that they take up a 200–300-pound man in the center of the ring, slam him, then leave to climb up the turnbuckle and the apron to jump on him with an elbow. According to Bret, the wrestler who is motionless and must absorb the elbow, knee, or anything else the opponent plans to do, must have total trust in the opponent who will leap on him. The jumper should ensure that the wrestler doesn’t get hurt or land on his face, head, or neck and sustain an injury. The wrestler trusts the person who would leap.

Back in April 2021, while speaking on The 81 Podcast, Bret Hart revealed how Triple H and Shawn Michaels tried to sabotage The Rock, when he was a rookie. According to Bret Hart, Triple H and Shawn Michaels were merciless and would try to ruin anyone who tried to get close to him. According to Hart, The Game and Michaels would make an effort to prevent the rock from seizing a significant chance. Hart stated that he recalls telling the Rock not to care about the Game or Michaels, and that he is a good talent who does not require them to advance in his profession.

“Triple H and maybe even Shawn [Michaels], were pretty ruthless,” said Bret Hart. “If someone was tied to me or connected to me, they would try to ruin them. Even Dwayne Johnson [The Rock].They really tried to crack him and bust his chops. I remember telling Dwayne all the time, ‘Don’t listen to these guys. You’re a really good talent and you don’t need these guys.”

Bret Hart even mentioned how Triple H persuaded him to fight the Rock and win the Intercontinental championship after he had decided to allow the Rock to win, in order to give him a boost. Hart said that he informed Triple H that he didn’t need the intercontinental championship and that Triple H didn’t take it well, making him sick with resentment since he had a type of animosity for the Rock.

“I wrestled The Rock and they wanted me to beat him. Triple H did. He wanted me to beat Dwayne and win the Intercontinental Title. I refused. ‘What do I need the Intercontinental Title for?’… I remember Triple H was sick about it because he had a thing for Dwayne and wanted to ruin him. He hated him.”

After being one of the Golden boys of the company for over a decade, Bret Hart left the company following the Montreal Screwjob and retired as a wrestler in January 2000 due to a concussion he suffered at WCW Starrcade in 1999 in a match against Goldberg. Bret was diagnosed with Post concussion syndrome and was forced to retire from wrestling. After the Screwjob, Bret has since then made amends with Vince McMahon and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. He is now signed to WWE under the legends contract.
